Visit at the LUSEM staff club by Torbjörn von Schantz
The new Vice-Chancellor of Lund University Torbjörn von Schantz visited
Monday (April 13th) the LUSEM staff club was visited by no less than the new Vice-Chancellor of Lund University Torbjörn von Schantz, sharing his views on academic leadership. Torbjörn spoke of the collegial leadership, wise priorities, challenges regarding government decisions, psychology of leadership, scramble for resources and the importance of leadership teams.
Many interesting questions followed and thereby a forum for discussion and exchange was created which continued for over an hour. Examples of issues were academic freedom, faculty collaboration, career opportunities, university organization, resource allocation, view on leadership and research applications.
Torbjörn von Schantz' visit was the staff club's first major event in the spring of 2015.
